Welcome to St. Francis Rehabilitation and Nursing Center
On behalf of the entire staff, I would like to welcome you to St. Francis Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in Laconia, New Hampshire.
If you are reading this, then you are more than likely looking for short-term or long-term care for yourself or a loved one. You may also be feeling a bit overwhelmed or nervous about this incredibly important decision. So let me (hopefully) ease any worry by sharing with you who we are, what we do and why we may have everything you are looking for.
At St. Francis, we believe you should be in charge of your own care; after all, you know yourself best. As we get to know you – and learn those things that make you the unique individual that you are – we will work together to provide you with the best experience you and your family could have, based on your own needs, wishes and preferences.
We understand that everybody would like to stay in their own home, but that might not be possible in some cases. That’s why it is so vital for us to create a home-like, family-friendly environment where, no matter the circumstances that brought you to us, you truly find the sense of “home” our residents continually experience.
Take Joan, for example, who came to us because her husband and children could no longer provide the level of care she required. They were all very apprehensive as Joan was a bit confused and her family feared she would not be able to settle in. And while it became too difficult for them, Joan’s family did not want to give up taking care of her because, well, family is the best to care for a loved one. We understood their concerns in handing off to nurses, therapists and other staff she wasn’t familiar with. However, over the course of days, their fears subsided. They saw that Joan was cared for and loved by our care team, and they were able to relax, especially when it became clear Joan was increasingly happy at St. Francis.
There’s also John, who moved in shortly after his wife passed away. He soon met Mary, a fellow resident and widow, and as time went on, the two fell in love. They decided they wanted to spend their last years together and we even had a wedding ceremony for them in our function room. Who says that love is only for young people? Needless to say, they loved it here.
Our focus is family. Yes, it might take some time and faith in us to see that, but once we have the chance to get to know you, it sure ends up like that. Just ask many of the former residents and family members who often visit just to say hello or catch up.
We would love for you to join our family. If you are interested in a tour, please call or email, I would be happy to show what we have to offer.
Sincerely,
Brenda Buttrick RN, Administrator
